Works Cited Page MLA

Updated: Nov 17

Step 1: Start a new page at the end of your paper.

- Your works cited page should be...

- times new roman

- 12 pt font

- double spaced

Step 2: Label the page "Works Cited" at the top center of the page. DO NOT put your name, date, class, or assignment on this page.

Step 4: Select your source and put in the correct information

Step 5: Arrange the entries alphabetically based on the author's last name or the title of your source.

Step 6: Use a hanging indent for all lines after the first line of each entry.

To create a hanging indent, highlight the text and then click on the "format" tab (it looks like a paintbrush on a Mac), then click on "Layout" next to the "Style" option, and select "0.5" under the category labeled "left."

If you use Google Docs, the same settings can be found under "Format."

Select "Special Indent" and choose "Hanging."

That's it! These steps will help you create a works cited page in MLA format. Your finished page should look like the one pictured above.
